I am the technology director with a manufacturing association and an adjunct professor in the graduate program at a local university.
I am a dad with a son in manufacturing.
I have been frustrated seeing so many people get deep into debt pursuing college degrees that will not return on the investment of their time or money.
I see people doubling down to get master’s degrees with loans, and still no sense of whether or not it is a good investment.
At the same time, I speak with owners of manufacturing companies that are desperate to hire skilled, talented people at their modern, advanced manufacturing companies. There are thousands of openings for skilled people in advanced manufacturing companies across the country. We need to change the conversation from college degrees and debt to learn while you earn, and create both a career and an educational pathway of achievement- without the debt.
My precision machining company CEOs are always looking for people with skills, machinists. So are other manufacturing companies, utilities, airlines and contractors doing HVAC, electrical and plumbing work.
If you have a career plan that includes college, that’s great. But if your plan doesn’t actually assure that you’ll get a good return on your investment of time and money, this site’s goal is to help you find a way to learn as you earn, avoid the college loan trap and find a career that gives you the quality of life that you want.
Skills do pay the bills. On this site, we’ll show you how.
