BMW South Carolina Imports German Apprenticeship Program

Despite all the academic wonks claiming there is no skilled workforce shortage, BMW is “growing their own” skilled workforce through their apprenticeship program.

Openings for workers with skills abound nationwide.

BMW is creating their own pipeline of talent to meet their needs.

If it aint broke don’t fix it this the story of apprenticeships in Germany. The offshore excursion to manufacture somewhere cheaper is coming home to roost. England unlike Germany also followed the USA ROUTE it clearly hasn’t worked despite treating engineering as a low grade occupation. The attitude of dirty engineering is sadly in the mindset within the educational elite who clearly push all students to get that degree. Its sad but true so get the message apprenticeships what ever the skills learnt set young people on the road to a career. You may treat unskilled people with a disposable attitude but skilled people especially mature ones are as vital as the CEO they lead whilst the rest of us create. Sadly the disposal of manufacturing elsewhere is coming home to roost.
So its people that is your asset and thier ability to grow within the company . Offshore is short term thinking we have all know how lets use it not abuse it!. Toby Taylor
